About MonsterCommerce®
MonsterCommerce® was founded in 1998 in Belleville, IL, to provide affordable e-commerce software that merchants could manage without the help of a Web developer. The shopping cart solution provider soon became an industry leader in Web-based shopping cart software with thousands of companies and online store owners depending on MonsterCommerce e-commerce software to manage their e-commerce operations from top to bottom.
The rapid popularity of the
MonsterCommerce shopping cart software was due in large part to their development of e-commerce software that was a completely integrated, customizable shopping cart solution for companies of all sizes. It was built to be easy to learn and use, and to be up and running in weeks or days - not the months or years required by traditional ecommerce software.
MonsterCommerce shopping cart software became so
popular that in 2006, MonsterCommerce became part of the Network Solutions® family of online products and services, and gained the backing of a large corporation with decades of experience in the online industry. Network Solutions brought with them an award-winning customer support system that was at the immediate service of all MonsterCommerce customers.
Also in 2006, it was decided that it was time to get a
fresh start for the MonsterCommerce e-commerce software.
The team that developed the MonsterCommerce e-commerce
software expanded to more than double it's size in order to
rewrite the existing shopping cart software from the ground
up. They created a lower end product, for $49 per month,
to help gain interest in more businesses that are just
starting out selling online, with the intention of expanding
this functionality to include everything that was in the
previous MonsterCommerce e-commerce solution. This new
product's focus was on ease of use from the start.
In 2007, they did just that. The same great team that
helped the MonsterCommerce shopping cart become famous
expanded the newly-written MonsterCommerce Standard
product to include the functionality of it's original
version. This new product became knwon as
MonsterCommerce Pro, and was launched in August of 2007.
In an effort to avoid confusion
between different brands, Network Solutions decided to rebrand
the MonsterCommerce shopping cart software. It is now
known as Network Solutions Pro E-Commerce. The
underlying team is still the same as the ones that
developed the MonsterCommerce shopping cart software.
